At ME Aesthetics & Wellness, we offer Tirzepatide, a cutting-edge, once-weekly injectable medication designed to support weight loss and improve metabolic health. Tirzepatide works by activating two key hormones, GLP-1 and GIP, which help reduce appetite, increase feelings of fullness, and slow gastric emptying. This dual action promotes sustainable weight loss and helps manage cravings. The medication is administered subcutaneously (under the skin) once a week, typically in the abdomen or thigh, and dosages may be adjusted based on individual progress. Our team will guide you through the process to ensure the best possible results and minimize side effects. For more information, please visit the questions below.
Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injectable medication approved for weight management. It works by activating two hormones, GLP-1 and GIP, to reduce appetite, increase feelings of fullness, and slow gastric emptying (how quickly food leaves your stomach). These effects help promote weight loss by improving satiety and reducing cravings, making it an effective option for individuals struggling with obesity and related metabolic issues.
The result of these actions causes you to feel full- suppressing your appetite and causing you to lose weight. It can cause an average 20% reduction in weight.
The starting dosage for Tirzepatide is typically 2.5 mg once a week. This is the initial dose, which is often prescribed to help your body adjust to the medication and minimize side effects. After 4 weeks, the dosage can be increased to 5 mg, and further adjustments can be made based on your individual response and treatment goals. Your healthcare provider will guide you on how to safely increase the dosage, with a maximum dose of 15 mg per week.
Yes, keeping a log of your Tirzepatide injection data is incredibly helpful. It allows us to track your progress and adjust your dosage based on your unique experience. To assist you, we’ve provided a FREE downloadable Tirzepatide data log below that includes sections to record the week of your dosage, the location of your injection, a weight tracker, and dedicated areas to track nausea and constipation. By tracking this information, you'll help us fine-tune your treatment and ensure the best results, while making it easier for us to adjust your plan as needed.
You will administer the injection once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food. The injection is given subcutaneously (just under the skin) in your abdomen or inner thigh.
Tirzepatide works by slowing the rate at which food leaves your stomach, which may cause side effects such as nausea or vomiting.
Our goal is to minimize any adverse effects while helping you lose 1-2 lbs per week and experience reduced appetite, cravings, and smaller portion sizes. We may adjust your dose every 4 weeks to help you reach this target.
Gastrointestinal (GI) side effects tend to happen most frequently when using this medication- the most common being nausea, constipation, and vomiting. You may experience these effects more strongly when your provider raises your dose.
Additional common side effects can include: Stomach pain, indigestion, and bloating.
*** If you experience severe nausea/vomiting or abdominal pain, please stop the medication and contact us or go to the ER.
If you have not felt the effects of the medication (i.e. minimal to no weight loss, and minimal side effects) you may increase your dosage.

If you are losing weight and feel less hungry, you are on the right dose! If you are losing weight (1-2 lbs per week), do NOT increase your dose. You may later plateau and then you will need to increase your dose. A higher dose does not mean faster/more weight loss.
If you are experiencing too many side effects (i.e. constipation, nausea) decrease your dose down to the previously administered amount, or try injecting your inner thigh.
